Green Lantern Loses It!

This is another prime example of DC throwing their heroes in the ringer.Putting their core characters through some intense life-changing events.While this storyline was going down,DC Comics was leading another campaign and asked the fans to vote on how it would end.The buzz over this was in newspapers all across the U.S. just like Knightfall and Death Of Superman.It was great that DC was listening to it's readers.Coast City is destroyed by the evil Cyborg Superman and GL tries to recreate it. He does this with grizzly means.In the process he kills several members of the GL Corps and even a sacred guardian and steals all the rings of power.He just goes freakin'insane and becomes a ego-centric power hungry monster.These issues lead into Zero Hour which in my opinon was a badly written "Crisis" type story.But this GL storyline was really good.For the first time we get to see the dark side of Green Lantern's power and what can happen.GL becomes Parallax and eventually GL is defeated and dies or so it seems. Hal is replaced with Kyle Rayner as the new GL. As for other stories of DC heroes getting their lives destroyed,check out Batman:Knightfall,Death Of Superman and Crisis On Infinite Earths,the daddy of all DC Comics destruction.Like I said in other reviews,this was a weird decade in comics (1989-1999) but it was great for the fans!

This book isn't the easiest thing to read, but it is definitely a lot easier than trying to read all three volumes of Capital. Trotsky takes the message of Capital and cuts it down to a manageable size. I recommend reading this if you are looking to learn about Marxism.

An amazing series that just keeps getting deeper and deeper.

Jaleta has managed to create one of the strongest female characters I have ever read. Yet, Dace is not just a "tough chick in leather" like so many do. No, she has faults, and fears, and is human to the core, yet she NEVER gives up. Dace just wants her space ship, a nice little shipping contract, and the safety of her close friends/crew. Even when chased half way across the galaxy, and betrayed by those she once trusted, Dace never quits.
And boy does she ever get it in this book. Not only that, but problems from the past rear up to bite her in the worst ways. Debilitating phobias, PTSD, and enemies from her past all try to do her in. But the universe's human embodiment of chaos shouldn't be crossed. You hurt her friends, well, you brought it all down on yourself.
Even so, when Dace unleashes her own brand of hell on her foes, she doesn't escape unscathed either. No, choices have consequences, and even she must face them.
